Not too long ago I found myself overcome by a series of happenings that just seemed to get worse and worse. I needed to be at my 12 month old sons doctors appointment in 45 minutes and everything started to hit me all at once. As I was preparing the diaper bag I noticed my son had a huge brown stain in the back of his shirt. I needed to change his diaper so I took him into the nursery and prepared for the worst considering the size of the stain.

To my astonishment I had never seen so much poop come out of this cute little guy ever….and I mean ever!  I knew a few little wipes were not going to do the job so I prepared to give him a bath. As I was washing him my 2 month old daughter woke up from her nap and began to cry uncontrollably. I couldn’t leave my little guy in the tub so I quickly wrapped him up in a towel and placed him in his crib.

I proceeded to get my daughter and knew that she was hungry so I started to warm up some breast milk that I had stored in the fridge. I began to feed her and then my 12 month old started to cry. I still needed to finish getting him dressed so I put down my daughter and picked up my son.  As I was dressing him my daughter began to cry again, so I put down my son and picked her up to finish feeding her. As I was feeding her my son started to through a tantrum….I think you get the picture here. Needless to say I was over 30 minutes late to my son’s doctors appointment.

I felt so defeated and overwhelmed…it’s crazy how even the simplest tasks can become difficult at times. The duties of a mother are endless and may seem overwhelming sometimes but don’t be discouraged mama the Lord has equipped you with the amazing quality of resiliency. When adversity may seem to get the best of you, stand strong and hold your head up because the Lord brings comfort and rest to a tired soul.
