“Be still, and know that I am God.”
Sometimes we want answers while we are in the midst of our turmoil and doubt, but the truth is, we seldom find wisdom until we are still. When we are being tossed in the waves of our turmoil, the horizon may not appear in sight, leaving us feeling lost and lonely. But we forget that these are the times when God calls us to be still. Silence and stillness allow for us to lead our weary hearts into prayer. Deep prayer is a quieting of the soul, it allows us to really connect with God when we express our deepest concerns, feelings and thoughts. God is the order amid the chaos, the foundation of all reason, and pure goodness in an unjust world. Through this stillness and prayer His loves rushes in and renews us. God can work His grace into our everyday lives, all we have to do is look to Him. He is our horizon in the stormy sea and He is our protection from anything threatening to overcome us.
