James 2:19

“You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that–and shudder.”

Question: Does our belief in God affect the way we live or do we just do entirely as we please? .

There is a misconception that if we believe there is a God we will go to heaven. This belief is considered dead faith that has no ability to make a difference in one’s life. This verse reveals that basic belief in God does not save a soul eternally nor deliver a Christian in time. For even the demons believe in God and tremble at Him yet they do not obey Him and they remain lost. Simply believing is not enough we must choose to seek the Lord, follow Him and have a personal relationship with Him. If we do not have a relationship with Him and allow Him to guide us in our lives He will deny ever knowing us. Matthew 7:23, “But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.” The way this world teaches us to live is a life independent without Gods influence. One of the biggest deceptions is that we are capable of doing things ourselves and that we have the power over our own lives and destinies. Let us not be so deceived because our salvation is at stake. A true Christian should have a genuine, dynamic faith that applies the principles of the Word of God to their life. A true Christian is guided by the Lord and is filled with the Holy Spirit. A true Christian has a personal relationship with our Lord and savior. How do you develop a relationship with Him? You live in continuous repentance, seeking maturity and truth through Christ.  It’s an ongoing process and it doesn’t end until your last breath.
