Believers Vs. The World

John 14:17

“that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.”

The world sees that those who believe in the truth are different. They wonder why we think so differently and they wonder why we find so much joy in the Lord. Some may see us as weird or some may even see us as Jesus freaks. Don’t worry about what this world thinks because the world cannot perceive the Spirit; it cannot grasp how He works in this world. The “world” represents those who are in rebellion against God. Many don’t even know they are living in rebellion against Him. Those who are not converted cannot connect to God’s truth because they do not have spiritual life. The Holy Spirit is invisible to lost people. Those operating under the world system will not be able to accept Him because they limit themselves only to the knowledge of this world. They’re too focused on the here an now to even grasp the future that awaits them after life. They’re too consumed with their wants and desires to even fathom that there’s more to this world. They’re focus is on the things of this world and not on having a relationship with the Lord. But we know the truth and we hold in our hearts the meaning of our existence. We are not lost, and we know ourselves perfectly well because we know who God really is. We have a future because we have a relationship.
