Proverbs 13:10
“Where there is strife, there is pride, but wisdom is found in those who take advice.”
Pride is the main reason conflicts and quarrels are started. It creates division, ruins relationships and steals our peace and joy. It is a weakness that stunts our growth and it only leads us to strife. God cannot fill a person who is already full of themselves. The proud heart is at war with God. This is the reason God calls us to humble ourselves. Whoever is humble is teachable. A tender, humble heart is one that is receptive to change and one that is open to being in submission to God. With humility we gain wisdom and compassion. When we are humble we look not only to our own interests, but also to the interests of others. Humility is not a weakness…it’s a strength under control.
