Luke 3:11
“Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same”
There are so many people in need in our community and in our world. We should always remember to think of others and to help those in need. We should strive to live for more than just ourselves and our own pride and pleasure, nobly and intentionally doing something that benefits another person. Life is about honoring God and helping our fellow brothers and sisters, that is what we were created for. When we give we position ourselves to think of others and our sacrifice encourages more generosity. God calls each and every one of us to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. We’re indebted to Him and should give back, not out of obligation but with a heart of gratitude and joy. Giving can involve money or our time and resources. If we commit ourselves to serving others, I believe that God will show us wonderful opportunities to honor Him with our life and our possessions and as a result we’ll point others to Christ. We’ll find our purpose for life and we’ll have a peace that no amount of wealth can provide.
