God First

Matthew 6:33 

Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

When we include God in our life and when we put Him first in everything we do He transforms us. He transforms us in many ways; He changes our character, our behavior, and our actions. We begin to do things that He wants us to do and we begin to live the way He wants us to live. This enables us to live out God’s plan and thus we are supplied with the benefits of doing things His way. The amazing thing is that God’s will and way is so much better than anything that we could ever imagine. When we seek the Lord first it goes even further than just being supplied with what we need. Our desires and our will and our wants will start to meet God’s. If we are truly seeking the heart of God then our heart will mirror His. Our desire will be His desire. Our wants will be His wants. So whenever we truly live out Matthew 6:33 it means that we have been seeking after God and God alone. And therefore God will give us the desires of our heart, because our heart begins to match His. May we live out this truth and remember the importance of putting God first. Let us not be anxious for anything, for our needs are provided in due time as long as we are putting Him first in our lives.
