Malachi 3:6
“For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed.”
We all struggle with the difficulties of letting go of the old in order to grasp the new. We like things to be familiar and predictable. We feel the need to be in control. Although, the longer we live we start to realize that life is constantly changing. Whether our changes seem hard, or make us happy, change teaches us that life is fragile, uncertain and temporary. Nothing lasts forever, except for God and His word. He is the only one that never changes and will stay the same for eternity. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Whatever change we are experiencing in our lives, God is constant and a dependable anchor. We can always find comfort in His word and our relationship with Him. We can depend on God to give us guidance through His Word so we can effectively navigate life’s changes. God is always totally in control of the circumstances of our lives. He has a loving plan for all of us and His plan is unshakable. Let us not be afraid of change but instead have faith that it is for the better. Let’s allow our change to motivate us to draw closer to the Lord and to His Word. Let Him be our refuge, our comfort, and our strength.
