Lord, Cleanse Me

Isaiah 59:2

“But your iniquities (sin) have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.”

This is by far the biggest consequence of our sin. Every sin is an offense to God, and God cannot be in the presence of sin. Our sin separates us from God. That is why if we choose to keep committing the same sins without repentance, we will stop feeling His presence in our lives. Repentance is more than just asking God for forgiveness, it also includes turning from our sin. We need to repent on a daily basis for any sins we enact as well as commit to not doing them anymore. The Holy Spirit will stop guiding us if we refuse to do this. It’s a good thing our God is full of grace and mercy, and as it states in 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Thank God for His gift of eternal life through Jesus, and all that the Lord has done for us so that our sins can be forgiven.
