Hebrews 4:9-10
“There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from His.”
Sometimes we need breaks from our work and even from the demands of life and loved ones. We need time to rejuvenate and refresh the mind, body and soul. Especially, during times of pressure…it’s so important to take time to retreat just as Jesus did on earth. Luke 5:16 states, “So [Jesus] Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed.” Perhaps we could benefit from a 15 minute break, an occasional day off, a weekend away, or a vacation? Whatever it may be let us discover new ways to give our mind, body and soul a timeout and incorporate rest and recuperation into our schedules. It is a necessity for spiritual and physical health. We’ll also discover that we become more productive with a clear and rested mind.
