Matthew 6:34
“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”
There is nothing productive about worry. It chokes us spiritually. It creates an emotional and mental stranglehold on our lives. It doesn’t ever make anything better. In fact, it makes things worse. What happens with worry is that our hopes pull us in one direction while our fears pull us in another. Worry doesn’t solve a single problem. And worry isn’t helpful because life is more than our worries make it out to be. Worry is the opposite of that which God has called us to. He is calling us to “Trust” in Him by faith. Our heavenly Father knows precisely what we need, when we need it. God is in control. He can take care of everything better than we can, so why don’t we turn it over and let Him work on it. In Philippians 4:6 Paul wrote, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” We should always remember to turn our worries into prayers. God wants us to leave our problems in His hands, rather than let them become a stumbling block in our faith. When we worry about the future, we cripple ourselves in the present. Worrying does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength. Let’s take it one day at a time and ask God to give us the strength to do everyday what we have to do. 🙏🏼
