Philippians 3:13

“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

Living with regret is counterproductive to say the least. It causes sadness and depression and it’s impossible to change the past…so why live there? Yes, it’s important to learn from it but then we should move on. God calls us to deal with what is now. We should recognize what God teaches us through our experience, and then thank Him for the opportunities still to come. If we truly believe that all things work together for good to those whom love God then we should start looking forward to the possibilities He’ll bring into our lives. Our faith should always overcome our regrets and fears. Let’s remember 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” The life of a new creation in Jesus cannot be lived looking back, but pressing forward to the goal of the prize of the high calling of God in Jesus.
