Sweet Friendship

Proverbs 27:9

A sweet friendship refreshes the soul.

Friendship is one of life’s greatest gifts. True friends seek a special kind of good for their friends. Real friends believe in us, they listen and cheer us on. They share our pain through hardships, share our joy of blessings, and celebrate our triumphs and accomplishments.  Yet, how are we as friends? Beyond common interests, beyond affection, beyond the shared laughter there is the ultimate expression of friendship. And that is reminding our friends of God’s wisdom, refreshing their spirit with words of His love, and giving them positive encouragement. Jesus is the best example of a true friend. He’s loyal, loving, compassionate, and giving. When we honor and value our friendship with the Lord it assists us in becoming the kind of friends others need. May we always treasure our friends and may we also be a true friend to others.
