John 14:27
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
This worlds version of peace is to change your circumstances. Go to a place where nothing or no one bothers you, where everything is peaceful around you. The Lord gives peace right in the midst of trouble, distress, turmoil, heartache and pressure. Peace is the inward indicator that He is fully involved on our behalf. Peace is the outcome of our faith. We are not alone as we face every challenge of life because God is not only with us, he is within us. We have the gift of God’s presence, the gift of Jesus’ guidance, and the blessing of the Holy Spirit. God is present within us to guide, strengthen, comfort, lead, inspire, and motivate us. We get peace with God through faith in Jesus Christ. We get the peace of God by taking control of our emotions through prayer and obedience to God’s will. The point is, if we know that we’re doing what God has commanded in the Bible, we can stand firm and be calm even in the midst of fierce opposition or difficult trials. No matter what let us ALWAYS focus on Him and His love and grace in the midst of our hardships so that the Lords peace remains in our hearts.
