Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”
Sometimes it can be difficult to determine what is Gods will for our lives. Which way to go may seem unclear. We want to do what’s right, but every choice seems to have its drawbacks. This is why it’s important for us to remember that God’s Spirit will always work through God’s Word. Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” One of the clearest ways to discover God’s will for our lives is in the pages of Scripture. When we study the Bible, His Spirit will lead us through His Word to understand it in its proper context. And when we saturate our lives and thoughts with the Word of God, we’ll know what God’s will is for our lives. Neglect of doing this will cause us not to know where He’s guiding us. We should also pay close attention to doors He opens and closes because this is also how He directs us into His will. We must remain sensitive and cooperative, not forcing our way into areas that God closes off. The Lord may use our circumstances and expect us to “read” them with a sensitive and alert conscience. With all of this in mind, after we’ve prayed, then we should make our decisions.
