Proverbs 31:30
Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.
Physical perfection is something many women strive for. Especially, in this day and age with social media being a source for us to flaunt our appearances. Yet, this also makes many of us unhappy with our natural God given beauty and we find ourselves wanting to change and altar our image to look like the worlds ideal woman. We believe we can improve our self-esteem when we reach that perfect body and image. However, we continue to find ourselves dissatisfied and discontent because of something new that we discover we’re unhappy with. And after all the alterations even if we do finally obtain a higher self-esteem, is this where we place our value? What about our character, our compassion, our humility, or our spiritual focus. When our focus becomes superficial we forget the value of our inner qualities. The qualities that are lasting and that leave an impact on this world and those around us. God’s definition of beauty is not physical perfection. Rather, it’s about what’s in the heart. May our focus be on improving ourselves and our character. May we allow our true beauty to be the inner beauty of the soul-a reflection of Christ-that never fades.
