Hosea 4:6
My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. “Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.
This verse speaks volumes about the importance of God’s knowledge. We need to study and educate ourselves with the Word, since this is a vital part of our attitude towards God and our relationship with Him. We can know God and still not have a deep and intimate relationship with Him. And without that, we are unprepared to understand the real meaning of life and its challenges. Knowing there is a God makes us responsible for finding out more about Him, for finding out what He expects of us and for living as He commands. Rejecting God’s wisdom, God’s will, God’s way is not in our own best interest. It will only lead us to destruction because we’ll fall victim to idolatry and sin. We will be conquered by the enemy if we turn away from Gods knowledge and do not submit ourselves to His righteousness. May we not reject God’s knowledge and read the Bible so that we are not destroyed.
