Proverbs 16:24
“Kind words are like honey sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.”
Our tongue is a very powerful tool and it has the power of life and death. It has the power to build up or destroy. There is no such thing as a “chance meeting,” God arranges encounters with people that come in and out of our lives for a reason. All encounters whether brief or lasting are an opportunity for ministry. People are all around us; family, friends, and strangers. Who knows what’s going on in their lives. God may use us to give people the only kind words that they’ll receive today. Let us be prepared! Have ready words of kindness and understanding. When we run into someone, let’s ask ourselves, “What can I give this person? A word of encouragement? A listening ear? A comforting hug? A big smile or an enthusiastic hello?” In our Christian walk of faith let us keep kindness in our speech because it is indeed very valuable. Kind words provide many benefits. Not only to the person it is intended for, but also to the person who is saying them.
