Humility is something that is not really respected today. People see humility as weak, docile, and having an inferior opinion about yourself. Yet, this is not true humility. True humility is honoring God’s opinion of you. True humility is not having an opinion about yourself at all whether good or bad. True humility is being God-centered to where you aren’t self-centered, self-seeking, and self-dependent. We need to have a proper esteem of self…not to hate ourselves or love ourselves. We need to be confident of who we are in Christ, not ourselves. We need to have an understanding of who we are in Christ and make that our confidence. As a man thinks in his heart, so he is (Proverbs 23:7).
